Facility Rental Agreement

Facility Rental Agreement: Journey Community Church

To be good stewards, we’ve established the following guidelines for the rental of facilities and
equipment of Journey Community Church. We will gladly share the resources God has given us
for uses that are consistent with the mission and ministry of Journey Community Church.

Our facilities may not be rented by:
1. Partisan political groups
2. Groups operating for commercial gain
3. Organizations and individuals whose activities are in conflict with the mission and
doctrine of Journey Community Church

Scheduling
While we would like to be able to approve all rental requests, our response is dependent on the
existing church calendar and staff availability. When scheduling conflicts occur, decisions will be
made based on the following priorities:
A. Worship gatherings
B. Meetings of ministry groups within the church
C. Weddings and funerals
D. Schools, arts, or community organizations
When a request is received via our rental request form, the church staff will consult the existing
calendar and support staff availability. The applicant will receive a response from Journey
Community Church within one week, along with an estimate for rental fees.

Guidelines and Usage Policies
1. At least one staff member from Journey must be on campus during the setup, teardown,
and the event itself.
2. A Journey staff member will be responsible for opening and closing the building, HVAC
setting, supervising custodial staff (if needed), and making sure all furniture and
equipment is in place before and after the event.
3. A staff member must oversee any use of AVLl equipment.
4. The applicant will be responsible for any and all damages to the church property during
facility use.
5. Alcohol and non-prescription drugs are not permitted on the property, and
smoking/vaping is not permitted indoors.
6. Bubbles and glow sticks are the only acceptable items for wedding “exits.”
7. Furniture and equipment belonging to the church cannot be loaned or removed from the
building.

Housekeeping
1. One week prior to the event, the renter will receive the name and phone number for the
staff member who will serve as their on-site point of contact.
2. During the event, the renter is to report any irregularities or damages to this contact
person.
3. Though part of the rental fee includes professional cleaning, renters are to leave the
spaces designated for their use in orderly, acceptable condition after the event.
4. All visible trash should be disposed of in trash cans.

Fees
Fees vary depending on the scope, size, and timeline of the event. Fees will compensate our
custodial team, onsite staff point of contact, and production staff if AVL elements are involved.
For weddings, there is an additional pastoral fee of $250. The church will send the applicant an
estimate of fees within a week of receiving the rental request. A $150 deposit is required to
secure the date, and the remaining balance must be paid within one week of the event.

Liability
1. User agrees to hold harmless, indemnify and defend Journey Community Church
(including Journey’s agents, employees and representatives) from any and all liability for
injury and damage including, but not limited to, bodily injury, personal injury, emotional
injury, or property damage which may result from any person using the above described
premises, its entrances and exits, and surrounding areas for User’s purposes,
regardless of whether such injury or damage results from the negligence of the Journey
Community Church (including Journey’s agents, employees and representatives) or
otherwise.

2. User promises and warrants that it carries liability insurance with a minimum liability
occurrence limit of $1,000,000. The User will provide a certificate of insurance to the
Owner at least seven days prior to the date upon which the User begins to use the
above described premises. The certificate of insurance will indicate that User begins to
use the above described premises. The certificate of insurance will indicate that User
has made Owner an “additional insured” on User’s policy with respect to use by the User
of the property of Journey Community Church.

3. The user is fully responsible and agrees to pay for any damages to the building and/or
its contents that occur as a responsible of the event.
