Position Summary
The Early Childhood Coordinator supports the vision of the Children's Pastor by implementing and executing all ministry goals for Downtown (infants - kindergarten) age children and their families.
Job Responsibilities
- Cast vision for the overall Downtown experience and culture and communicate this vision to staff and team members
- Work with the Children's Pastor to recruit, train, inspire, and care for volunteers - specific emphasis on Downtown-related positions
- Work with JourneyLand staff to create dynamic large and small group experiences where children can learn Biblical truth, worship together, and nurture relationships in age-appropriate environments
- Directly oversee the implementation of all elements in Downtown space for all weekend services and special events
- Assist the Children's Pastor in creating policies and procedures that ensure a safe and secure environment for all JourneyLand children
- Appropriately equip all volunteers to be successful in their assigned roles
- Coordinate with the Children's Ministry Assistant to schedule volunteers and paid childcare workers for all services and events
Qualifications and Requirements
- Agree with Journey's Statement of Beliefs and adhere to the values and lifestyle consistent with the Journey Leadership Agreement
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (or related field of study) preferred
- Experience with infant, pre-school, and kindergarten-age children in a school or church setting preferred
- Experience in leading teams and empowering people
- A passion and determination for the discipleship of young children and their families
- Flexibility and adaptability to the needs of the work environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity, work ethic, confidentiality, and dependability
