Groups – Sherwood

Life is better together.

One of our core values here at Journey is that we encourage one another to take Next Steps. One of the most important Next Steps you can take is to join a group! Doing life together is not only beneficial for you, but for others as well.

We offer three types of groups: Care, Connect, and Community.

Care Groups are offered to people going through specific seasons of life. (CancerCare, DivorceCare, GriefShare).

Connect Groups, formerly called Access Groups, are short-term groups, classes, and studies that connect us to people and to God’s Word.

Community Groups, formerly called J-Groups, are “small groups” for people who want to do life together long-term. To best connect you to a Connect Group at Journey, simply click here to fill out a quick form. Our team will follow up soon!

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

Through the story of Israel’s plight and God’s faithfulness, we see how God preserved his people to carry out his mission of redemption.

Mom Struggles

What: A 6-week Bible study for moms
When: Tuesdays, July 9-August 13 from 6:30-8pm
Where: Sherwood campus
Cost: $5

The years of motherhood are paved with both tears of triumph and struggle. Our hearts and minds are tangled up in learning to love ourselves and the children God gifted us. We know who we were before kids, but who are we now? Oftentimes we find ourselves overwhelmed, lonely, and lost. Our struggles are common to all moms, and each season of motherhood holds new opportunities and challenges. This twelve-session series from Gather Moms seeks to express the things you’re feeling so that you know you are not alone. There is joy and victory in surrendering our struggles to Jesus and asking him for the power to keep going.

When: Tuesdays, July 9-August 13 from 6:30-8pm
Where: Sherwood campus
Cost: $10

The Resolution: A Small-Group Study for Men was inspired by the resolution challenge featured in the movie COURAGEOUS. The resolution contained 12 commitments related to characteristics that all men of God want to pursue, such as responsibility, faithfulness, honor, justice, forgiveness, integrity, and courage. The Resolution Bible study walks participants through each of the 12 challenges, identifying their biblical roots and outlining how to live out each godly principle in real life.
