Groups – Evans

four women praying together

Life is better together.

One of our core values here at Journey is that we encourage one another to take Next Steps. One of the most important Next Steps you can take is to join a group! Doing life together is not only beneficial for you, but for others as well.

We offer three types of groups: Care, Connect, and Community.

Care Groups are offered to people going through specific seasons of life. (CancerCare, DivorceCare, GriefShare).

Connect Groups, formerly called Access Groups, are short-term groups, classes, and studies that connect us to people and to God’s Word.

Community Groups, formerly called J-Groups, are “small groups” for people who want to do life together long-term. To best connect you to a Connect Group at Journey, simply click here to fill out a quick form. Our team will follow up soon!

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.

Grateful: Giving Thanks to God in All Things

Who: Women
When: Tuesdays, Oct. 17 – Nov. 14 from 10am-noon

This 5 -session study will help you develop a thankful heart that can be cultivated into a continual harvest of gratitude, regardless of the circumstances. Each week you’ll look at a profile of someone in the Bible with a grateful heart, find teaching from Scripture on gratefulness, focus on a psalm of thanksgiving, and be encouraged to practice gratitude. When you’re able to see the biblical basis of living with a grateful heart, you will be more motivated to thank God in all things.

Acts verse mapping

Acts Verse Mapping

Who: Women
When: Tuesdays, Oct. 10 – Nov. 14 from 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Evans campus
Cost: $10

If you have a deep desire to unpack the meaning of the Scriptures you’re reading but you want to do it in a simple way–then verse mapping is for you. Verse mapping includes Hebrew/Greek word studies, finding connections in Scripture, comparing Bible translations, and learning as much as you can from your time with the Holy Spirit. And it’s even better when you do it with others as a group.

Simply put, verse mapping is getting real about studying Scripture. More than just reading a verse or passage, it’s about researching everything you can about what you’ve read to learn more about who God is and how He speaks into your life through His Word.
